YOUTH AND FAMILY PROGRAMS


Welcome to YFP Spring Programs!!!

Fall 2017 Class schedule

Toddler Time (ages 2-3)........................ Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 10:30 am to Noon  

The purpose of this program is to teach children social skills and to provide quality learning experiences. The children will participate in a variety of activities including story and group time, arts & crafts and many other fun and developmentally appropriate activities.

 

Kindergarten Kids Club (ages 4-5)........................ Monday through Friday, 3pm to 5pm

This program assists children in their transition from home to the classroom environment in preparation for entry to public school. The children will participate in a variety of activities including language arts and English instruction, arts and crafts, outdoor play and a variety of other fun activities.

 

After School Adventures (ages 6-11)......................... Monday through Friday, 3pm to 5pm

The goal of this program is to provide students with a meaningful afterschool experience in the form of fun activities, crafts, games, and exploration that they would not normally have in school. Club Time: All children participating in Afterschool Adventures will automatically be enrolled in one of our uniquely designed club times to enhance knowledge though in-depth hands on experiences.

 

Teen Club (ages 12-17)................................................... Monthly Events  

The purpose of this program is to provide teens in the FGSH community with a safe & fun environment in which to hang-out. We will inform residents of upcoming teen events in on the FRC website. For questions about upcoming events, please contact Ivy.  

 

Family Story Hour (Suggested ages 0-4)............................................ Tuesday, 10:30pm to 11:30pm

This program is for children and their parents to attend together. Parents attending CD classes may sign child in to this program.

The purpose of this program is to promote early literacy and to instill an appreciation for reading in children and their parents. The activities offered in this program include a group story read by a staff member or parent volunteer and then a language arts or craft activity related to the book.

 

Family Exploration and Playtime (Suggested ages 0-4)…………...Thursday, 10:30pm to 11:30pm

This program is for children and their parents to attend together. Parents attending CD classes may sign child in to this program.

The program provides parents and children with an opportunity to explore and learn together. Using a variety of hands-on activities, children will build skills (i.e. reading, movement, emotion regulation) and learn with parents in a fun and interactive environment. Parents will be provided with information about child growth and development and ways to support such growth at home.
