Pizookie

Pizookies are life. If you have never had one before, you are missing out. A pizookie is a large cookie mad in a pan, topped with ice cream. BJ’s Sports bar and Grill is known for concocting this delicious dessert, and so we salute them today for their genius taste buds.

I have tried and failed numerous times in the past in attempt to make my own pizookie at home. But, thanks to the Pinterest user HowSweetsEats, I now have found the perfect recipe. It’s so simple, quick and only uses a few ingredients (which my wallet is thankful for).

The Ingredients:

1 ½ cup Flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

1 stick of butter

1 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate chips

8 inch cast iron skillet

Here's How:

First Step: Melt the butter.

Second Step: Add sugars (both brown and white). Mix the ingredients thoroughly until it comes to a caramel-like texture. Then, remove the skillet from the heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes. You want the mix to be warm, not hot.

Third Step: Whisk in an egg and vanilla extract.

Fourth Step: Mix in the remaining dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt).

Fifth Step: Now that you have a batter, mix in the chocolate chips.

Sixth Step: Put the skillet in the over set at 350 degrees for 15-25 minutes.

Once you take it out of the oven, let it sit for just a few minutes, and top it with ice cream while it’s still hot. And there you have it! The masterpiece is complete!
