Monday

Common Phrases and Idioms in America with Jenna Curlee 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Learn about common idioms and phrases used in daily conversation in America. This class will give you an opportunity to practice communication skills using new idioms and phrases.

Grammar and Vocab with Jenna Curran 9:45 - 10:45 AM

Improve your grammar and vocabulary by learning new words and how to use them in the correct way to express yourself more accurately.

Listening and Speaking with Jenna Curran 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Improve your listening and speaking skills by learning and using the language necessary for several contexts.

Basic Financial Planning with Jasmine Campbell 4:30pm-5:30pm

Learn about the need for, and value of, a budget in our daily life. Learn how to prepare and maintain monthly budget, and get tips on tax planning.

Tuesday

Book Club with Goutam Mylavarapu: 8:30 AM - 09:30 AM

Participate in reading and discussing engaging novels with peers in order to improve English literacy skills.

American Culture and Social Skills with Kaitlyn Barnett : 9:45 - 10:45 AM

Learn about American culture and daily social skills like manners, gestures and talking skills used in America.

Situational English with Goutam Mylavarapu: 11:00 PM – 12:00 PM

Come learn the English needed for specific situations such as shopping in a grocery store, ordering food in a restaurant, or obtaining a new license through practicing in class and various locations in Stillwater.

Zumba with Fernanda: 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Is it possible to have fun while you exercise? Yes! Come join us for Zumba as we dance for the purpose of exercise.

Garden Club with Tala and Jenna 7:00pm- 8:00pm

Meet us at FGSH garden plots to have fun time gardening together. We will grow veggies together and work on ‘Swap Veggie’ program where residents have opportunity to swap their produce with others.

Oklahoma- Places to visit with Dr. Melanie Bayles: 8:30 AM - 9:30 PM

Learn about more about the state we live in- Oklahoma.

Reading and Writing with Kaitlyn Barnett: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Improve your English skills through reading a variety of texts such as newspapers, blogs and stories and interacting with these readings through writing.

Everyday Pronunciation with Jenna Curlee 9:45 - 10:45 AM

Practice sounds common in the English language through authentic communication activities in order to improve your pronunciation

English 4-Skills with Christina Clovis: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Come join us to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This class will improve overall English skills by teaching language through all forms of communication.

Pronunciation and speaking practice with Jenna Curlee and Jenna Curran: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Practice speaking English with sounds common in the English language to improve your pronunciation.

Friday

English 4-Skills with Christina Clovis: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Come join us to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This class will improve overall English skills by teaching language through all forms of communication.

Computer Technology with Goutam Mylavarapu: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Learn the skills required for basic computer use. Students are given a brief overview of basic computer concepts, hardware, memory, multimedia, storage, networks. You will learn skills for using PowerPoint, Word and other important software for daily use.

Cooking Demonstration: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This class is a great way to meet new people and learn how to cook a new dish. Anyone can volunteer to cook and the FRC purchases all the ingredients. Chef will get a participation gift. Sign up at FRC front desk to cook.

The FRC provides Activities for Children (AC) for all Community Development classes. AC are for children whose parent is attending FRC programs. Please do not bring your children with you into the classroom. The classes are quite full, and small children can be a distraction for their parents or other people in the room.

** There will be no Activities for Children during classes with this symbol.
