Summer is officially here at the FRC! This semester we are offering several new English classes, exercise classes, cooking demonstration and more! Check here regularly for updates on classes we offer and upcoming programs. See you all around the FRC!

Summer 2018 Classes

** There will be no activities for children provided for these classes

Monday

Innovations that changed American Life: 8:30 AM - 09:30 AM

This fun and interactive class will teach you about some of the lesser-known people who changed the American way of life, and how they changed the course of American history!

Tips for English Exams: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Do you have any interest in taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or any other English certification tests? This class will focus on teaching you tips for English exams so that you can be confident going to take your test!

English 4-Skills: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Come join us to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This class will improve overall English skills by teaching language through all forms of communication.

General Fitness: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

This class is designed for anyone who wants to improve their fitness. The class will be open to all levels of fitness. Join us for this fun and energetic class!

Tuesday

Women’s Exercise: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Join us for a fun women’s fitness class that provides a well-rounded workout for all levels. We will be doing strength, cardio and stretching exercises.

Reading and Writing: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Improve your English skills through reading a variety of texts such as newspapers, blogs and stories and interacting with these readings through writing.

Tricks of the English Language: 11:00 AM -12: 00 PM

This class focuses on the tricky parts of the English language including idioms and phrasal verbs, spelling and word usage.

Wednesday

Listening and Speaking: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Improve your listening and speaking skills by learning and using the language necessary for several contexts.

Tips for English Exams: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Situational English: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Come learn the English needed for specific situations such as shopping in a grocery store, ordering food in a restaurant, or obtaining a new license through practicing in class and various locations in Stillwater.

Garden Club: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM **

Meet at the FGSH Community Garden Plots to take care of the plants in our Community Development Garden Plot, learn about gardening skills, and socialize with friends.

Professional Writing: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

An introduction to the writing styles used in a professional environment. Learn how to write resumes, memos, reports, and more!

Improve your listening and speaking skills by learning and using the language necessary for several contexts.

Presentation Skills: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Come join us to learn the skills needed to make professional presentations in English, as well as how to give those presentations to others confidently.

Cooking Demonstration: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This class is a great way to meet new people and learn how to cook a new dish. Anyone can volunteer to cook and the FRC purchases all the ingredients.

The FRC provides Activities for Children (AC) for all Community Development classes. AC are for children whose parent is attending FRC programs. Please do not bring your children with you into the classroom. The classes are quite full, and small children can be a distraction for their parents or other people in the room.

** There will be no Activities for Children during classes with this symbol.
