Monday

Grammar and Vocab with Jenna Curran: 8:30 AM - 09:30 AM

Improve your grammar and vocabulary by learning new words and how to use them in the correct way to express yourself more accurately.

Random topics of interest with Adran Wagner: 9:45 - 10:45 AM

Come and enjoy engaging discussions on various topics of interest and enjoy a collaborative learning environment.

Reading and Writing with Kaitlyn Barnett: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Improve your English skills through reading a variety of texts such as newspapers, blogs and stories and interacting with these readings through writing.

English 4-Skills with Kaitlyn Barnett: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

Come join us to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This class will improve overall English skills by teaching language through all forms of communication.

Tuesday

Cross-cultural parenting & communication with Naisha and Dr. Mumbe Kithakye : 8:30 AM - 09:30 AM

This class will examine similarities and differences in cultures associated with parenting and communication.

Agriculture around the world with Dr. Melanie Bayles: 9:45 - 10:45 AM

This class is designed to introduce you to the agricultural industry of the United States, including how it compares to agriculture in other countries across the world. Dr. Melanie Bayles is faculty at Plant and soil sciences at OSU

Common Phrases and Idioms in America with Barry Bachman: 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Learn about common idioms and phrases used in daily conversation in America. This class will give you an opportunity to practice communication skills using new idioms and phrases.

Expert Seminar Series: 1:00 PM -2: 00 PM

This is a new class where we will invite expert guest speakers every week during this class and also go for field trips. Guest speakers and fieldtrips will provide students a chance to hear from experts from many different fields.

Zumba with Fernanda: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Is it possible to have fun while you exercise? Yes! Come join us for Zumba as we dance for the purpose of exercise.

Wednesday

Languages in America with Jenna Curran: 8:30 AM - 9:30 PM

Learn about different languages spoken in America and practice sounds common in the English language through authentic communication activities.

Laws of Leadership with Dr. Frost: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

This class is for those interested in learning more about effective leadership principles that can be applied in every culture and situation.

English in Media in America with Kaitlyn Barnett: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Learn usage of English in different forms of media like movies, news-papers, songs etc. This would be fun way to learn and practice English.

Women’s Conversation group: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Come join women from around our community as we talk about topics relevant to women.

English 4-Skills with Kaitlyn Barnett: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

Come join us to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This class will improve overall English skills by teaching language through all forms of communication.

Art: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Explore your creativity by learning to color, draw, paint and much more. This class will be an opportunity to relax and discover your creative moments.

Friday

Listening and Speaking with Makenzie Danley: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Improve your listening and speaking skills by learning and using the language necessary for several contexts.

Computer Technology with Benjamin Semola and Goutam Mylavarapu: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Learn the skills required for basic computer use. Students are given a brief overview of basic computer concepts, hardware, memory, multimedia, storage, networks. You will learn skills for using PowerPoint, Word and other important software for daily use.

Vocabulary and Conversation skills with Jenna Curran: 11.00AM -11:30AM

Learn new vocabulary and communicate effectively in daily conversations.

Cooking Demonstration: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

This class is a great way to meet new people and learn how to cook a new dish. Anyone can volunteer to cook and the FRC purchases all the ingredients. Chef will get a participation gift. Sign up at FRC front desk to cook.

Everyday Pronunciation with Makenzie Danley: 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM

Practice sounds common in the English language through authentic communication activities in order to improve your pronunciation.

The FRC provides Activities for Children (AC) for all Community Development classes. AC are for children whose parent is attending FRC programs. Please do not bring your children with you into the classroom. The classes are quite full, and small children can be a distraction for their parents or other people in the room.

** There will be no Activities for Children during classes with this symbol.
